American Martyrs Area

The American Martyrs Catholic Church sits on the highest spot in the Tree Section. Its golden, domed bell tower can be seen from quite a distance and the hourly chimes can also be heard around town. The American Martyrs Catholic School is nearby. This area of the Tree Section surrounding the church property has come to be known as the American Martyrs or just Martyrs neighborhood. It is sometimes called the American Martyrs hill area, but should not be confused with the Hill Section of Manhattan Beach. It is the one area in the Tree Section where you might find a home with an ocean view. This is one of the priciest portions of the Tree Section.
